Timesaving Ideas to Maximize Your Day

Many of us wish we could make the most of our day.  Yet, sometimes evening arrives and it feels as if little has been accomplished.  “Where does time go?” we uttered in confusion.

Fortunately, simple measures can help us optimize our time.  Here are some timesaving tips to consider.

  • Make a food list/stock up.  A food list is a godsend because it fine-tunes the supplies we need.  Therefore, be sure to make one at least two days before you go shopping (this way you can always add to the list in the event you forgot something).  When you are at the grocery store, stock up on the items you typically use: you will not have to shop as often.  And the best time to go to avoid long lines?  Weekday mornings.  Weekend mornings, on the other hand, can be a nightmare.
  • Do household tasks when you have the most vim and verve.  Certain individuals are early risers, and others are night owls.  The best time to tackle your chores is when you feel the most energetic.  Some people start their duties when they are sluggish, but this can result in a substandard job.  When you plan tasks around your more active periods, you’ll love the results (and save time!).
  • Schedule doctors’ appointments wisely.  Mondays and Fridays can be hectic in a physician’s office.  Consequently, it makes sense to pick another day to visit.  Concurrently, the first appointment in the morning and the one immediately following lunch are great times to aim for because no one will be ahead of you. Independent of all that, your patience will be best served not to schedule anything right after a doctor has returned from vacation.  He/she will likely be swamped and may not seem as engaged.
  • Prepare the night before.  If you have an appointment, commitment, or important event planned for the morning (especially early morning), get everything ready the night before.  For example, take out the clothes you will be wearing and iron them if they are wrinkled, set the curling iron and/or razor on the bathroom sink so the items are readily accessible, keep make-up or other sundries you use within eyeshot, and even bathe or shower so you just need to wash your face when you wake up.  Mornings can be a source of stress when the pressure is on to get out the door.  Doing as many tasks as possible the previous evening eases the burden.

There are multiple ways we can maximize our time.  So, plan ahead (and have fun!).
