stART Fall on the Right Street

Fall is rapidly approaching, and many wonderful activities fill this period.  For example, apple picking, leaf peeping, hiking excursions, county fairs, road trips, and leisurely rides will be on many an autumn enthusiast’s list.

Among the numerous things to do during this enjoyable season, stART on the Street stands out as one of Central Massachusetts’ most enjoyable experiences.  And, as many individuals already know, this talent-packed event takes place in the amazing City of Worcester.

Let’s look at some of the fantastic festivities lined up for the 2013 Fall Edition.

Artists and Crafters.  Arts and crafts have boasted a presence at stART on the Street since its inception in 2002.  Some of the inventive participants scheduled to be present are AliRoseArt, Anita Lynn Designs, Angie Colombo Jewelry & Designs, Art schMart, AWSCROLLWORKS, Beadarrific, Black Rose Creations, Bows and Bowties, Cedar Street Studio, Catspurrfection, Designs By Lainie, Edie & Fin, Fay Street Studio, GRANAS BUTTONS, Henna By Heather, Kittredge Candles, Larry Carlson Studio, Miss Jane’s Fashions, Nora Miller Jewelry, Pate Ceramics, Small Stone Sculptures, The Petal Collection, Yarn Over, Young Art 3D (and so much more!).

Stage and Street Performers.  Three stages will delight the crowds with assorted entertainment throughout the day.  At the same time, various street performers will showcase their impressive abilities.  What type of music will be featured?  A variety of genres are in store.  For instance, there will be acts that may include Classic Rock, Alternative, Latin, Classical, Reggae, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Blues, Soul, Celtic, and Cabaret.  All the while, non-music entertainment such as comedy, interactive creative features, hands-on kids’ activities, and spoken word will be on hand to please, as well.

Where does all this joviality take place?

Festivities extend from Park Avenue to Pleasant Street to Highland Street on September 15: there’s no cost to enter.  The fun begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m. (rain date is September 22).

An assortment of culinary delights, including vegetarian and vegan fare, will be available when your stomach declares, “I believe I need to eat.”  Parking is accessible on some side streets and assorted small lots, but be sure to find a legal spot.  Two information booths, one located on each side of the festival, can help out with questions.
