Briarwood to Celebrate Opening of $23M Expansion
Sunday, December 1, 2019 2:00-4:00 p.m. Grand Opening Celebration
Worcester, MA – The Briarwood Community, a leading senior life plan community, announces the opening of The Laurels, a $23M expansion including 24 Independent Living apartments, Wellness Center with Pool and Sauna, additional amenities, and Evergreens Memory Care (Pending EOEA Certification). The Grand Opening Celebration and ribbon cutting will be held for invited guests and members of the media on Sunday, December 1st, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
A weather backup date is Saturday, December 14th.
Briarwood Residents, Staff, Board Members and representatives of Design & Build partner Cutler Associates will attend, along with State Senator Harriet Chandler, State Representative James O’Day, Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty, West Boylston Selectman Raj Rajeshkumar and other dignitaries.
Following the official remarks and ribbon cutting, guests will tour the Laurels and enjoy light hors d’oeurvres and live music.
“We are excited to open The Laurels and welcome Residents to their new homes and expanded amenities,” said Paul Bowler, Chief Executive Officer. “We worked diligently to create a high-quality product, and we considered every detail with Residents and their families in mind.”
Construction began in August 2018 and includes major renovations in the Birches building: the main dining room, a new café open six days a week, a private function room and the Art Gallery.
