Worcester, Massachusetts   The Gallery at Briarwood is pleased to announce the fourth public art exhibit in a series of six for 2015. The Worcester Center for Crafts” Enameling Group”  exhibit will run July 15 through September 3 and is open Mondays through Fridays from  10am-4pm. Groups and those wishing to visit on weekends may make arrangements by contacting Anita Thomas at 508-852-9007 or by e-mailing amthomas@briarwoodsl.com.

The Opening Reception will take place Wednesday, July 15, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at The Gallery at Briarwood, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester. Guests will have an opportunity to meet master-enamelist instructor Judith Daner  and her student artists. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Participating artists in addition to Daner include Mary Aroian, Jennifer Carey, Becky Fellows, Mimi Grenier, Peter Grigg, Sarah Hudson, Susan Kellogg, Fran Nickerson, Sheila Ronkin, and  Diane Seiler.

“The learning process never ends either for the beginner or the experienced enamellist,” said Daner. “I hope visitors will find the work inspiring and be a bit awed by enamel’s endless possibilities.”

Enamels can be of epic scale as well as small jewelry pieces. The metal is covered with finely ground enamel (both opaque and transparent) to produce brilliant coloration when fired in a kiln.
