Founded by an award-winning artist Irina Parfenova in 2013, the Attic Art Studio grew quickly and now has more than 15 regular young students ranging in age from 6 to 17 years old.

The “Painted Windows” exhibit will be on display through July 6th at The Gallery at Briarwood, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester.

An Artists’ Reception will be held Saturday, June 23rd from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The events is free and open to the public and will include refreshments. The Gallery is open Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Groups and those wishing to visit on weekends may make arrangements by contacting Leslie Reichert at 508-852-9007 or by email at lreichert@briarwoodsl.com

Attic Art Studio honors high standards of classical art tradition, educating students about perspective, scale, proportion, tonal vision, color theory and composition techniques. Every year, students score top awards and recognition in national and regional art competitions, such as Scholastic Art and Writing Award and National Junior Stamp Design.

Ms. Parfenova finds it crucial to bridge visual principles to music, mathematics, science and liberal arts. According to her, a major objective behind creative activity is to learn about the world and to connect to it: “We not just learn to draw. We draw to learn.”

The Gallery at Briarwood showcases a wide variety of artistic talents. Its mission is to educate, encourage and inspire residents and visitors by presenting a schedule of media using both traditional and innovative techniques. Upcoming 2018 exhibits for the Gallery at Briarwood include works by Jo Ellen Reinhardt, Yvonne Hemingway, Joanne Quinn and Bruce Dean.
